Anyone else not have direct deposit at work?

It's such a freakin' PITA. Pay day is every Friday. Months ago, I set it up for them to mail out my paycheck (gets mailed on Wednesday). Some Fridays (like today) I am not in the office, so that's the reason why mostly. Well, this is like the 2nd time in a month my paycheck hasn't come on Friday.

Last time it didn't come until Tuesday or Wednesday.

The same thing happens with my husband. His check gets mailed out and at times it comes in late. Now it's a pain since I'm unemployed and he's now paying for most of the bills. Plus, our mail delivery has been screwed up. We find other people's mail in our box while others in our building get ours.

So I feel you pain.

I haven't had direct deposit for my summer job...drives me nuts that I can't assume my check will be there on time...

I don't have direct deposit for my weekend gig and that drives me nuts. I guess I just get spoiled from my school district job knowing that my paycheck will be in my bank every other week.

My company only has a dozen employees so we don't have it either. Even worse, we don't get our paychecks on the last day of each pay period, we get them on the 3rd business day after the end of each pay period. So say the pay period ends on Friday the 30th, I may not get a check until Wednesday the 5th. It's kind of a hassle. Every other place I have ever worked we either got paid ON the last day of the pay period or the first day of the next pay period. I don't know what is up with the 3 day delay.

My husband works for a giant company and their payroll department is very on the ball which is a nice contrast to my company.

If the last day of the pay period falls on a Sunday, his direct deposit will show up in our account the Friday beforehand.

I haven't had direct deposit at my last couple of jobs, which is unfortunate because I got completely spoiled by a job just out of college that did have it. I find the biggest pain is that checks come out on certain dates, and if I am not in those days I have to either make a special trip (unless it's a weekend, in which case I'm just SOL) or wait until I'm in to get the check. I've also had some issues at my current internship with my check not being issued or ending up in the wrong place, making it an even greater pain and delay. Argh!

I used to not have it, or not use it when I did.

I found not having or using the advantage very annoying, due to the checks taking soooo long to arrive. Seriously... there was a time period where the checks would be mailed 750 miles north, then 1500 miles back south just to reach me... why not just send it the 750 miles south? Gah. That's what did it for me to sign up for the direct deposit.
